Attendance Policy

Please review carefully and ensure you are able to make this commitment before registering.  Any questions can be directed to Ginna Reeder ([email protected]).

  • Rowing is a time-intensive sport that requires consistent attendance by all team members.  Beyond time in boats on the water, athletes are essential to the care and handling of equipment, loading and unloading the trailer, creating and caring for the team and team culture, and ensuring a safe experience for all.
  • All athletes are required to attend all scheduled practices on a regular basis.  An outside activity that creates a regular conflict with team practice will not be allowed.
  • Occasional conflicts for important unavoidable events (e.g. family commitments, academic, or other commitments) must be communicated as soon as possible to coaches and will be excused.  These events are to be avoided in weeks prior to regattas.
  • Religious exemption: religious holidays are excused absences.  Athletes should let coaches know as soon as possible if they will miss practice due to a religious holiday.
  • Same day or unexpected absences (e.g, an athlete becomes sick during the school day) must be communicated to coaches as soon as practicable.
  • Attendance will impact regatta boating decisions.
  • Failure to comply with the attendance policy may lead to removal from the team.
